Beginning with your arrival in Arusha, you’ll venture into the elephant paradise of Tarangire, explore the diverse ecosystems of Lake Manyara, descend into the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, and traverse the vast plains of the Serengeti. Along the way, you’ll have opportunities for cultural interactions with local communities, including a visit to a bushmen village and a Maasai village, as well as a fascinating Coffee Plantation Tour. Day 1: Arrival at JRO & Transfer to Arusha

  • On your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly greeted and transferred to the comfortable Four Points by Sheraton Arusha (approximately 1-hour drive).
  • The remainder of the day is yours to relax, acclimatize to the African atmosphere, and prepare for your upcoming safari adventure. You might choose to enjoy the hotel’s amenities or take a brief stroll around the local area.
  • What you might see: Initial impressions of Tanzanian landscapes, Mount Meru, Mt Kilimanjaro, Coffee farm and local life during the transfer to Arusha.
  • Overnight: Four Points by Sheraton Arusha.| Dinner , Breakfast

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

  • After a hearty breakfast, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park (approximately 2-3 hours). Tarangire is renowned for its large herds of elephants, often congregating near the Tarangire River, especially during the dry season.
  • Enjoy a full day game drive. You can expect to see numerous elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, eland, hartebeest, and various species of gazelles. The park’s iconic baobab trees dominate the landscape. Birdlife is abundant, with possibilities of spotting yellow-necked spurfowl, helmeted guineafowl, and various starlings. Keep an eye out for predators like lions and possibly leopards and cheetahs.
  • Optional: Night game drive offers a chance to see nocturnal animals such as bush babies, genets, servals, and perhaps even a leopard hunting under the cover of darkness.

Day 3: Lake Manyara's Diversity & Journey to Ngorongoro

  • After breakfast, you’ll drive to Lake Manyara National Park (approximately 1-2 hours). This park, nestled at the foot of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, boasts diverse ecosystems.
  • Enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Manyara. You’ll be on the lookout for its famous tree-climbing lions (though sightings are not guaranteed), large flocks of flamingos along the alkaline lake, hippos, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and various antelope. The groundwater forest is home to baboons, blue monkeys, and the shy bushbuck. Birdwatchers will be delighted by the numerous species, including silvery-cheeked hornbills and various waterbirds. In the afternoon, you’ll begin your scenic transfer to the Ngorongoro area (approximately 2-3 hours), ascending the Great Rift Valley.
  • Overnight: Oldean Ngorongoro Mountain Lodge ,offering stunning views and a unique setting.

Day 4: Cultural Immersion - Bushmen & Coffee Plantation Tour

  • Today is dedicated to cultural experiences in the Ngorongoro highlands.
  • Morning: You’ll visit a local bushmen village (Hadzabe tribe), one of the last hunter-gatherer tribes in East Africa. This offers a fascinating insight into their traditional way of life, hunting techniques, and unique culture.
  • Afternoon: Enjoy a guided walking tour through the lush landscapes, followed by a visit to a local coffee plantation. You’ll learn about the process of growing, harvesting, and processing coffee, and have the opportunity to taste freshly brewed Tanzanian coffee.
  • What you might see: Authentic cultural practices of the Hadzabe tribe, beautiful highland scenery, and the coffee-making process from bean to cup.
  • Overnight: Oldean Ngorongoro Mountain Lodge.

Day 5: Descending into the Wildlife Paradise - Ngorongoro Crater

  • After an early breakfast, you’ll descend approximately 600 meters (2,000 feet) into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. The crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a natural amphitheater teeming with wildlife.
  • Expect to see a high concentration of animals, including lions, elephants, black rhinoceros (the crater offers one of the best chances to spot this endangered species), buffalo, hippos, wildebeest, zebras, and various gazelles. Birdlife is also abundant.
  • In the late afternoon, you’ll ascend from the crater and transfer to a lodge strategically located for your onward journey to the Serengeti.
  • Overnight: Melia Lodge, Ngorongoro, known for its comfortable accommodations and proximity nested above the Crater rim with stunning view of the Crater floor.

Day 6: Journey to the Serengeti - Wildlife Encounters & Olduvai Gorge

  • After breakfast, you’ll begin your drive towards the Serengeti National Park (approximately 3 hours, excluding game viewing stops).
  • En route, you’ll visit Olduvai Gorge, an important archaeological site where significant early human fossils have been discovered. You’ll learn about the history of human evolution in this area. Continue your drive into the Serengeti, enjoying an en-route game drive as you traverse the vast plains. The Serengeti is famous for its endless landscapes and abundant wildlife.
  • Overnight: Moru Oleserai Camp, Serengeti, offering a comfortable and authentic tented camp experience in the heart of the Serengeti.

Day 7: Serengeti - Following the Rhythm of the Wild

  • Today is dedicated to a full day of game drives in the Serengeti National Park. Your experienced guide will take you to prime wildlife viewing areas, tracking animal movements and sharing their extensive knowledge of the ecosystem.
  • Depending on the time of year, you might witness the Great Migration (herds of wildebeest and zebras). You’ll have excellent chances of spotting the “Big Five” and numerous other species, including cheetahs, hyenas, various antelopes, and a rich variety of birdlife. Optional: Hot air balloon safari offers a breathtaking aerial view of the Serengeti plains at sunrise, followed by a champagne breakfast.
  • Overnight: Moru Oleserai Camp, Serengeti.

Day 8: Serengeti - Exploring the Endless Plains

  • Another full day to explore different areas of the Serengeti, maximizing your wildlife viewing opportunities. Your guide will tailor the day based on recent animal sightings and your interests.You might explore the Seronera area, known for its resident wildlife, or venture into the southern or western corridors depending on the season and animal movements. Overnight: Moru Oleserai Camp, Serengeti.

Day 9: Serengeti Farewell & Cultural Exchange

  • Enjoy a final early morning game drive in the Serengeti, savoring the last moments of your wildlife encounters. After breakfast, you’ll begin your drive back towards Arusha (approximately 6-7 hours). En route, you’ll have the opportunity to visit a local Maasai village. This cultural visit provides insight into the traditions, social structure, and daily life of the Maasai people. In the late afternoon, you’ll arrive back in Arusha.
  • Overnight: Four Points by Sheraton Arusha.

Day 10: Departure

  • After breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward flight, marking the end of your memorable Tanzania safari
